Titan: star of Strezelecki lookout

Well, across from the cops (which T9 [predictive texting on my mob. as i send this stuff to the host computer] interprets as boss corp & amps! And if you start 2 write henry it suggests george. etc.) But enough gay banter. N'cle police, like cops in NSW generally did have a v bad rep not so long ago. N'cle got some of the more recalcitrant convicts & like port arthur & grafton, has had a history of brutal & arbitrary lax, er, law enforcement, a tradition maintained by roaming bands of young men & occasionally, their female accomplices, many of them, i daresay, the descendants of said convicts & jailers. A sensitive friend who was less than comfortable here in Newie, called it ' The land of the twisted eyebrow'. Not really fair, but God you can have a bad run at times! [Similar experiences at railway square in 'Sinny' were, ironically, major influences in my coming here! ] You get those hot spots. It's not really 2 do with social class either. 1 of the scariest places in sydney is the north shore platform at wynyard station. (A caution 2 those who claim australia is classless: the other side of that platform serves the western suburbs. Stark contrast.)

I know many of these pics are of less than henri cartier bresson standard, but i'm mainly trying 2 get some quick impressions of Newie down with minimal fuss & bother. As the ant said to the elephant - 'it's alright 4 you - but i've been sick!' and i'm still learning how this (phone) camera works; some shots are taken from a moving car; or furtively/discreetly:) Thanx 4 the feedback, all 3 of you are greatly appreciated!

Sydney Test 2008

Ironic that Steve Bucknor, probably the man with the darkest skin of all those involved, should be the scapegoat. Sure he made some blues. But considering the intransigence, double standards, sledging, petulant appealing and ignorance of intercultural sensitivities of many of those involved, both on and off the field, the officials did well to prevent a complete debacle.
